Join the San Benito County Public Authority Registry

The San Benito County Public Authority Registry is a service that assists In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) recipients with finding qualified caregivers that can meet their services needs to help them remain safely and independently in their home. The Public Authority Registry is seeking for dedicated, trusted, and qualified caregivers to join the Registry and make a difference in the lives of the IHSS Recipients.

    IHSS Authorized Services include: • Laundry • Grocery Shopping • Cooking/Meal Preparation • Domestic Housework • Dressing • Personal Care • Accompaniment to Medical Appointments

If you are interested in joining the Public Authority Registry, please read & review the following steps:

Step 1: Registry Application

First, you will complete and submit the IHSS Public Authority Registry Application English Spanish. All areas need to be completed. If any of these areas are incomplete your application will be denied.

Step 2: References & Interview

The Public Authority staff will conduct a reference check and a questionnaire. If you pass both you will be contacted by phone or by email you provided with your application with the next steps. If you fail to complete the recruitment process within 30 days of your application the staff will determine you are no longer interested in proceeding, and you will need to reapply.

Step 3: Online Enrollment Process

The next step involves completing the online enrollment process, watching all videos and signing all required forms and scheduling your in-person appointment. At your in-person appointment, you must bring a valid Driver’s License, or a Government ID and your Social Security cards to be uploaded to our system. Also, you will receive a Live Scan form, or you can print it at home.

Step 4: User Registry Agreement

During your in-person appointment you will receive a User Registry Agreement to read and sign. This document must be signed before you are added to our Registry.

Step 5: Background Check

If you pass and have a clear background you will be added to our Registry, and you must maintain a clear background to remain on our registry.
